Here is the beginning stages of my latest creation I call the Garden Fairy Goddess. The pendant is hand carved bone with exceptional detail. The pendant measures 2.5 inches in length, 1.5 inches wide.
I start out with a palette of colors I feel matches the expression of the pendant. This fairy called for colors of blues, purples and greens. And, I don't usually take pics of the process. The "ordered chaos" of the various beads and colors I was working with demanded notice and to be captured in time. I was thinking my customers might enjoy seeing the creation in progress and the ramblings of my thoughts.
This design is truly beautiful and looks so much better in hand. The photos never fully do the design work justice. Outside of this pic, you'll just have to take my word regarding the exquisite beauty of this piece.
Getting back to the gemstones, I decided to go with purple and lavendar smooth and faceted amethyst, smooth and faceted rainbow moonstone with it's wonderful flashes of blue in the stone, smooth, blue topaz and smooth, green peridot. The round, faceted amethyst beads are "hugged" with Balinese silver cap beads. Also, I added just a sprinkle of Swarovski crystals in the colors of amethyst and peridot. In a word "gorgeous"!
You can purchase this piece off my website. It's an artistic, wearable expression and I think it looks great from day to night. I made a wolf goddess pendant for me and I wear it daily. I just love it! I think in my next blog, I'll do a show and tell about my goddess pendant necklace with matching bracelet.
